Dorothy Boakye-Donkor was born and raised in Sacramento, but now considers the Bay to be her home. She began her career in education at Eastside College Prep in 2011 after attending Stanford University and noticing economic disparities in access to higher education. She currently serves as a director of the residential program supporting high school students in their pursuit to become the first in their family to attend and graduate from college.
More recently, Dorothy took the non traditional route of completing law school through the California State Bar Law Office Study Program. She apprenticed with Community Legal Services of East Palo Alto's Economic Advancement Program which provides legal support to Bay Area natives seeking to expunge their records or recover stolen wages. Now that she is licensed, she practices civil litigation in real estate, business, and probate for a boutique law firm in the South Bay and is opening her own estate planning firm.
Dorothy graduated from Stanford with a BA in Political Science. Outside of work she enjoys reading the Bible in various versions, spending time with family, and playing basketball.
